Re: TS1000's (ZX81's) black screen

In case you want to sell the broken TS1000, Zxkim81 is searching for one. You could send it to me, I repair it and add a working rampack and send it to Zxkim81.
Maybe this way we can get a reasonable price for Zxkim81 .

Kind regards
Paul

Re: TS1000's (ZX81's) black screen

Hi dessony, pin 17 is the NMI. if this is open circuit or 5V then your zeddy should run in fast mode always. If it's alway low your zeddy wont show anything as its constantly executing Adress 66h in your ROM. In doubt just don't insert pin17 into the socket (bend it a little) for tests. If Pin 6 (CLK...

Re: ZXMore development thread

Oh my wire frame..... hope it is way quicker than the rotating box i saw at Malherts some years ago, it ran on my Uber zeddy at about 1 frame a second... apparently that was fast !  I remember this occasion very good as well. Thomas showed it to me on a normal speed zeddy. I suggested to...

Re: zx spectrum in zx81 case

Wait a minute now we have to have made and adhesive overlay or dedicated membrane '81 style keyboard for Speccy in the Box...(ZXMax48) When will we stop innovating? And when will we accept what they give us? There is Pokémon ZX81 KDLX. We only need a print for Spectrum. I really hope we never stop ...

Paul,

Why buying faulty ICs? I can send you a bunch of faulty EPROMs and Z80 for your surgical procedure if you wish. Only postage you would pay.

Re: Yet another ROM adapter

What about buying a cheap IC, cracked up und pins reused?
To be honest I prefer to desolder the socket and solder the adapter directly to the PCB. :geek:

Re: Yet another ROM adapter

Yes Mark
You are absolutely right.
It's a solution to the problem which I wasn't aware of (the problem, not the solution :ugeek:)
Only way to have a reversible adaption.

Re: Yet another ROM adapter

If you are happy with desoldering the socket you can desolder the Adapter as well

Re: Yet another ROM adapter

I would not agree that the soldering the adapter to the ZX81 board directly is the solution. In my opinion any modification should reversible as far as practically possible. I don't like any mods that require traces cutting, drilling additional holes, and so on. I've repaired a few boards (mainly Z...
