Re: 2040 Printer - Clonable?
I have posted a "Want to Buy" ad on craigslist for the printer. This is a last attempt to obtain one locally. I looked carefully at the service manual and decided I would rather fix one than have to clone it. I don't know that anyone will respond and if they do, I may have to reject a few offers, bu...

Re: Memotext & word processing in general
Does anyone have a download link for Tasword for the ZX81? Also, is there an easy way to get a ZX81 with an Alphacom 32 printer to print in lower case, and/or more than 32 characters per line? Ideally I'd like to do this without any extra hardware (although I do have a ZXPand :) ) Lee Is this what ...

Given my present budget and the only one I can find on ebay is $80 USD, yes, it is worth the hassle.

Re: 2 bit question on the 8 bit machine
Have you looks at HEBOT?
Here is a link:
http://www.zx81.nl/dload/hardware/hebot_zx81_robot/
I know its a bit dated, but from a zx81 standpoint, it gives a foundation to start with. I am using this for my bots too.

Re: 2040 Printer - Clonable?
I wasn't planning to perfectly clone it. I was planning on doing something more to the effect of the set up for a modern printing calculator. My plan is to extract the printer of a used printing calculator (once I am certain that it works) and then to replicate the circuit from the TS 2040. I know s...

Re: 2040 Printer - Clonable?
I did some searching on the internet today and found this: http://k1.dyndns.org/Vintage/Sinclair/ I was able to download the 25 page service manual for the sinclair printer. I think with a minor modification to the circuit (to reduce power consumption to 1.5VDC) I can otherwise create a reasonable c...

2040 Printer - Clonable?
I am new, but I would like to ask about the TS2040 printer. Knowing how difficult it would likely be to find one in decent condition, how difficult would it be to assemble a reasonable "clone" of one? Perhaps it could be set up to use the same type of paper and ribbon as some printing calculators? I...
