Re: Campus LIsP (32K)

I understand your idea, I'll try to set up a test environment (e.g. a snapshot with a pre- loaded) lisp sentence at a given position (8192 ?). z88dk could help in a more efficient way, since it supports file redirection, but a sequential or random file access will be necessary (not considering the m...

Re: Campus LIsP (32K)

There is a Japanese port of the Campus Lisp on the Sharp PC-G 850 which works exactly in this way. http://ver0.sakura.ne.jp/g800/clisp2.png It is surely a possible approach, I was focused on the portability, this same program can become, in example, very similar to Spec Lisp and run on most of the z...

Editing a function is not possible, you need to re-enter it and crossing fingers you should be able to issue the garbage collector with (gc) to wipe the old one. The Lisp is an Interpreter, MRTINB is right. For the 16K I'm adding a less annoying (but slower) variant. Speed is not an issue here, ther...

Re: Campus LIsP (32K)

Doing a comparison between Campus Lisp and the ancient Spec Lisp for the ZX Spectrum (by Serious Software), I noticed that the latter chose to reduce the atom size to save memory (I also learnt how to deal with the turtle graphics and that old Lisp dialect, but it is another story). It makes the mat...

Re: Othello (A.K.A. Reversi)

The ARX mod variant is giving me some trouble. I had random stability problems, but after playing it for a while I have the impression that it is stable enough. To save enough memory to fit in 16K I'm using the ROM font with some shift&overlap trick to simulate the missing characters. OTHELLO_ARX16K...

Re: Charlie's Red Ant - a ROM instruction that reads throughout memory

I wonder if it was initially thought as a cheap refresh trick.. the zx81 is so unconventional !
