I wished that I had a nickel (5 euro-cents?) for every time I thought that (what warrants that price?).
eBay is/can be a zoo, when it comes to pricing and reality!

Re: Pause Function - useful for a Clock?
Keep in mind that a real ZX81 or TS1000 uses a resonator rather than a quartz crystal, so the 6.5MHz ULA clock signal is not very accurate over long time periods. So a real machine will lose or gain a surprising amount over 12 hours, let alone a few days :( Mark Agreed as anyone who has tried the "...

Pause Function - useful for a Clock?
Hi guys (gals), I wrote a small program to (sort of) be a clock. The idea is you have to enter the current time and then the clock should "go" on it's own. http://i67.tinypic.com/35i7foh.jpg How reliable is the Pause command for something like this? Or is there a better way? Pause 120 seemed to be a...

Re: Cataloging a tape.
Okay, whoa! Great information here, but some of it I don't understand. - it sounds like a WAV would work, but just be a space hog? - how does one generate a ".p" file? - the ZXpand sounds pretty cool, how can I buy one? ;) If you wanted, a modern computer sound card (or equivalent motherboard syste...

Re: Cataloging a tape.
And now as I read the "tape header" program my mind is completely blown to realize that a tape file exists in a "wav" format?! Never, ever, in your life, tried to digitize a cassette tape I take it? In digital form, .wav is the obvious format for a cassette tape recording. Drawback is that it...

Re: Interesting topic - Slow/Fast commands
Not so much higher resolution as in smaller pixels or more lines on screen. Pixel width is fixed due to the 6.5 MHz pixel clock. Maximum duration of a screen line is also fixed in hardware. # of screen lines is something that can be varied, but (since it has a direct relation to screen refresh rate...

Tape storage - digital media
Hi all, Again, thanks in advance for your help! It appears that a program actually exists on tape media as sound. That being said, that sound can be turned into a digital sound file and stored on an SD card potentially. Is there any reason that I need a old fashioned tape recorder for my TS1000, cou...
