Re: Enter key repeatedly being pressed
The membrane I have on it is a modern one. I think I bought it on ZX renew a couple of years ago. I have a spare membrane on another zx spectrum+ case that only has the keyboard I will attempt to swap the top cases to see if the problem is not the board. But with the one that is currently installed,...

Enter key repeatedly being pressed
Hello, I have a ZX spectrum+ that I use as my daily driver for games. Some weeks ago, was the last time I used it. This week I came back to it (it is sitting on a desk I didn't move it), and powered it on. Now it keeps entering what seems to be the space bar character repeatedly. Seems that the prob...

Bitwise AND
Hi, I am trying to convert a 16 bit integer to two 8bit numbers. I tried : LET vh=65280 AND value : LET vl=255 AND value I am getting it wrong I think. I checked the ZX BASIC manual and seems like AND is not for this purpose. vh is giving me 2 when I use 2 as the value variable. How do I do this ? A...

Re: Trouble replacing TR4 and TR5
Hi,
Thank you for your advice and directions.
I cut the transistors off the board, and then used the solering iron to remove the rest of the wires and the solder.
Then I soldered the new transistors on the board, and now the computer is working.
Thanks

Trouble replacing TR4 and TR5
Hi, I am kind of new to this stuff. I am in the process of de-soldering TR4 to replace it with a newer model. Problem is the f$%@ing transistor won't come off the board. I have a soldering iron and some wick, and also a de-soldering pump. looking at the back of the board I see no solder anymore. Any...

saving a BASIC program to TAP
Hi, I have been coding a program in BASIC on my beloved toastrack. I am using the add-on spectranet to save the basic programs to a tnfs server on my LAN. I now need to convert this program to a more device independent format such as TAP. I am thinking of saving the file to a wav using my mobile pho...

Thanks for your input. I have ordered the transistors, and when I come back from vacation will replace them, and see how it goes from there.

Re: Black paper White border
Hi, Got the chance to plug a ZX Diag Cart to the speccy. It indicates all lower RAM chips defective. I only have +5 and +9 Volts indicated by the cart. Is it worth it to replace them, or should I just get another known good board ? Seems like the voltage regulator explosion fried the RAM. Before tha...
