Audio Computers Special RAM Pack (1983)
Has anyone had any experience/knowledge of this? It came with 16K RAM and a X-ROMCARD and space for a keyboard sounder (bell). I believe the romcard was EPROM and allowed some sort of saving. Any info appreciated.

Re: Saving & Loading Mystery
Update: I cleaned the edge connectors, mic/ear jacks and tried saving again - still no success. I remembered that I had also fiddled with the volume on the cassette recorder at some point - so I lowered it from 8 to 6, more in desperation than anything else. And the system is back working fine. I be...

Re: Saving & Loading Mystery
It's been a long time since I bothered with tape loading but when I did so I occasionally came across your problem identically, L cursor plus line of zeros etc. In my case it was usually down to either a volume problem or a dirty edge connector which would I think point not so much to failing RAM a...

Saving & Loading Mystery
Hi everyone. My ZX81 system has been running smoothly - a Zeddy with 16k Ram with a Grundig data order (yes, I like C15 tapes!). But now my system crashes on loading my programs (all 3k+). Either full-blown or the screen shows L cursor (no keyword entry) or if K cursor is there, LIST returns a verti...

Question About Machine Code Posts
There appears to be no section for posts and conversations about Machine Code. ADMIN - is this an oversight? Do I post here in ZX Basic? Thanks.
And HNY to everyone in Zeddyland.

Re: City Bomb
Will do. Hope to get it finished in the new year.
City Bomb
Do you remember the first edition of Computer & Video Games? Although it was published exactly 40 years ago last month, most of us on these forums must do! The first ZX81 game in the iconic magazine was on p. 54 - "City Bomb". It was a simple but quite addictive game that ran in 2K. I remember typin...

ZX81 "BLACK BOX" Edition
Here is my new look Zeddy. With an external keyboard attached (and the keyboard membrane damaged) I decided to go with a minimalist approach. Getting the glue off from underneath the keyboard was harder than I thought!

Re: Two Dead Zeddies And A Partridge In A Pear Tree
Update: One dead Zeddy and two partridges in a pear tree. Surprised that the tuning-in frequency was so different between two machines (albeit using fine tuning). The dead Zeddy now gives a white screen without cursor. Any ideas? The revived Zeddy is the one that has the broken keyboard connector. I...

Re: Two Dead Zeddies And A Partridge In A Pear Tree
For both, the TV is just static as if there was nothing connected to it. They were tested using exactly the same setup as the one that works - same power unit, cables, TV etc.
