Vertical scrolling without the Scroll?

Hi,

Does anyone remember the POKE to disable the Scroll message on the ZX Spectrum?

Thanks,

Shaun

Re: Explain this behavior

To answer your original question, I'm not sure why the bottom of the screen is more responsive that the top? I noticed this myself, and then started an API for z88dk so that I could write to a back buffer and update the screen at regular intervals. I never got around to finishing it though. Maybe as...

Re: Next 1K hires game, BREAKOUT

I'll get to know this at some point in the hopefully near future; at the moment, I am just an assistant to an apprentice ZX programmer. One day I will be the apprentice.

Regards,

Shaun.

Re: Explain this behavior

That's cool - I have a more sophisticated and faster printAt() type routine for z88dk if you want it? It will allow >1 character and inverse on/off. I'm going to further modify it so that you may choose at which point in your text string to start your print as well as x/y positioning. Thanks, Shaun.

Re: Next 1K hires game, BREAKOUT

I like it, thanks Dr!

I imagine that ~200 t-states isn't a lot, so good work. So far not got past level two though.

Yes. That's exactly what I develop at the moment.
One has to pull out the ROM from its socket but other than that no modification of the ZX80 is needed.
Are you not able to disable the ROM in any other way? Also did you see my question about the Chroma?

Shaun.

Re: Going above 16K on ZX80

Paul, does this mean that you could create your own cartridge format for the ZX80?

Shaun.

Re: A football management game [ZX80]

Thanks again Moggy, it appears that there are subtle differences between the EightyOne emulator and the real hardware that z88dk doesn't know about. With regards to the scouting/signing process, I intend to limit signing up to six players per scouting turn. As each training session will take all rem...

Re: Going above 16K on ZX80

Thanks Paul,

Does the Chroma interface work with the ZX80? So could some ZX80 games be colourised?

Thanks,

Shaun

Going above 16K on ZX80

ZX80 with 32K can be emulated for 4K ROM machine, but is the 2nd 16K page of expanded RAM available easily?

Thanks,

Shaun
