Re: Compatibility between ZX80 and ZX81?
The ZX80 runs only in FAST mode. So you have to do some PAUSE to see the result on screen. The other possibilty is to count the executed clock cycles and call the display routine at the right moment ;-) There is AFAIK one ZX80 game (some kind of space invaders), which uses this "trick" to give a sta...

Re: SOUND FROM pure ZX81 (there is a prog)
I suspect the ZX81 is connected to some HDD? PS: Btw, sometimes it download progs not as name.p but as name.htm Files are stored on MMC cards (max. 3, each with max. 128MB), not on tape ;-) BASIC-programs should download as "name.P", while other data (e. g. m/c above ramtop) should download as "nam...

Re: Compatibility between ZX80 and ZX81?
If you replace the ZX80 by a ZX81 rom you get a ZX81, which runs only in FAST mode. There was an hardware add-on (NMI generator) to run this ZX80 with ZX81-rom also in slow mode. And there was a new keyboard foil to be glued on the ZX80 keyboard to have the new ZX81 keywords available.

Re: SOUND FROM pure ZX81 (there is a prog)
The sound is output as square wave to the tape output port and thus appears at the "mic" connector (very silently). If you have a monitor output added to your zeddy, the sound also appears there (louder than at the mic connector). You have to use an external amplifier (e. g. tape recorder in "record...

Re: Forum logo compo?
Forget Photoshop. Real ZX81/Ts1000 enthusiasts do it using a Zeddy and e. g. ZX-PAINTBrunoFlorindo wrote: Any Photoshop artists out there?
