Well, I've ordered a ZX8-CCB so we will see how it goes once I have had time to learn to solder to a reasonable level.
Expect an update next year....

Re: ZX8-CCB vs ZXVid
Here's one way of connecting the video out from the ZXCCB to the ZX81 - notice I've disconnected the resistor that was connected to the TV output 20161128_165115.jpg And here you can see I've detached the two wires into the modulator. I've looped them back so they are kept in place once the lid is ...

Re: ZX8-CCB vs ZXVid
Are they the instructions? Lardo Hi Lardo, yes these are the instructions. I am sorry if this is not sufficient for you but there are only 3 wires to connect (5V, GND, video in) and two wires for the video output. The location is described as text for every input wire and also a picture to show fro...

Re: ZX8-CCB vs ZXVid
Maybe post details or a picture (or both) of yours? But before buying another, you need to play with yours. It may be okay for what you want. Mark I got it from Amazon, the link is https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B006EXZM28/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1480288845&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywor...

Re: ZX8-CCB vs ZXVid
Moving slightly away from the pros/cons of the two devices. You say that you have a soldering iron but have never used it  Soldering is both an art and a skill. As with any practical job, the quality of the workmanship depends on both the skill of the engineer and of his/her tools. So, a few...

Re: ZX8-CCB vs ZXVid
Thanks all - there is a lot of info there! I do like the look of the chroma interface with the SCART out. I knew they did one for the spectrum but did it know about the ZX81 version. Very portable should it need to be used on a different zeddy. But also very £60! Also a shame I recently got rid of (...

ZX8-CCB vs ZXVid
Hello all Apologies if this has been asked before! I have an issue 3 zeddy (red motherboard) in need of a decent video output - it outputs reasonably well to a 'modern' tv but is fuzzy at the top and bottom of the screen. As I understand it there are two major options - the ZX8-CCB and the ZXVid. Wh...
