Re: ZX Spectrum Next
There have been many features added.
Its now using a XC6SLX16and gets 1 MB RAM
Right now we are heading to the 600000 pound stretch goal

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.
Re: ZX Spectrum Next
I just realized that I don't have L300 to support kickstarter.
Does anyone think/know/expect that they will make extra units available for purchase after the campaign ends?

Re: ZX Spectrum Next
It's part of the policy not to ensure this otherwise there would be many potential bakers waiting if will be realized.
Even now, at more than 612000 Pounds we don't know if it really comes to reality.
Its a bet. You can win or you can loose.
If the spectrum Next will be delivered to the bakers it's possible they also sell these at a higher price later on.
At the moment the more persons bake the spectrum next the more likely it is they really deliver what they promise.
By the way, I know SINTECH has baked some of these to sell later. Maybe you can get on a waiting list at SINTECH?

Re: ZX Spectrum Next
I made an acrylic case for the NEXT which looks quite nice and there are two variants available, either with only PS2 keyboard (short version) and one including a standard Spectrum keyboard (48K-KDLXS). Here I made some pictures with the integrated keyboard (PS2 keyboard works too, both together after boot, no problem).
The pictures show the first prototype but there is already a revised edition available with one correction of a hole position and some further improvements like better keyboard fixing. The left side part is missing due to the miss position of one hole for the md switch but included of course.
The joystick connectors can be used and connected via the cutting in the bottom of the case - tested and big enough for joystick cables.
It is high enough to support the Raspi Zero inside as well.

This is how it looks like with the 48K-KDLXS keyboard mounted
There is a short variant as well existing without spectrum like keyboard which is just cutted plain in front as seen on the screenshots below. Didn't have real pictures of this now but you can imagine, parts are cutted. The parts can be ordered at a german laser acrylic company with the given links but will be listed in my SMR shop as well for your convenience including all mechanical parts like screws, holders, distance elements and so on.
variant with PS2 Keyboard only - oder link at formulor (21 EUR + shipment):

variant with 48K-KDLXS keyboard (PS/2 keyboard can be used in parallel) - order link at Formular (47 EUR + shipment for two cases due to production requirements)

Both variants are available at sellmyretro soon (end of next week)
29,90 EUR short PS/2 case including all mechanical parts like screws, distance elements, plastic washers and feet/bumpers
49,90 EUR including 48K-KDLXS spectrum keyboard (soldered already) and all parts like screws, distance elements, plastic washers and feet/bumpers

Re: ZX Spectrum Next
I think this is more complicate. As it is acrylic you can see the logo of the board through the case.
Re: ZX Spectrum Next
Karl, that is impressive! Did you do the design of the enclosure?
