Hello ZX enthusiasts,in the year 1981 the zeddy was my first contact with personal computing, within these days my journey in I.T. starts, followed by commodore, amigas,pc´s. In 2000 i became "specialist on it" later"softwaredeveloper".
Last year a friend take me to a retro event...from this point i was infected by the retroviralcode.
I find some boxes with lot of old Hardware, who i have hold in stock.
Now i collect, all of those things that made my career over the period of 35 years.
Either i begin to build new things for this rarely old machine.
So my opinion is to save this old knowledge for further generations.

Re: Greetings from Germany
Welcome from Boxmeer to you (7 km from German border),
Take a look in what is done the last years. Many new games came out.
Isometric games in 16K bij Bob
Hires games in 16K by i.e. JIm Bagley (and his portal of Dragons lair)
and I coded hires games in in 1K.
But that's not all. Also new hardware to make the ZX81 work with modern TV, ZXPAND-interface to use compactflash card.
If you don't have a ZX81 you can use the emulator EightyOne on the PC to refind a lost love .

Re: Greetings from Germany
I would like to take the ZX81 to a local college. Start a STEM group. Then challenge the various engineering students to take on the project of recreating many of the peripherals that once existed in it's heyday.
My experience is that vision for this idea is wanting. Meaning most cannot understand the importance of a practical project. Classes take ultimate precedence and labs are few and far between.

Welcome on board Hughs!
Yes, a surprising amount has happened in the past five years. So please do have a good look around. There is still plenty going on in the ZX World
