Hello all,
I'm somewhat new to the sinclair 1000. I actually had one when I was very young but didn't really use it - I was more of a TI-99a kid. I came across a Sinclair Timex 1000 at a tag sale for $3, its missing the 9v power supply but for $3 you really can't go wrong.
Much like my Ti-99a, Commodore 128, Atari 800XL, Mac Classic I'm interested in picking up an addon that will enable me to run roms from a flashcard. I understand that the ZXpand+ is the way to go. I have a few 'noob' questions:
- Is the ZXpand+ fully compatible with a Sinclair Timex 1000?
- Where is the best place to order? UK only?
- Where is the best resource for rom files. I'm interested in a complete library that will enable me to explore b/w games!
Thanks very much!
-John

Hi John, welcome aboard!
Yes, ZXpand+ is 100% TS1000 compatible. The best place to get one is to sign up at SellMyRetro, a well respected specialist auction site for retro gear. It's out of stock at the moment but set up a watch for the existing listing and you'll be notified when they come back, which will be real soon.
As far as I know there is no complete library, there has been talk of putting one together though. That said - there was a lot of rubbish published along with the real gems. Happily one finds more of the latter on the web. A great place to start, other than here , is zx81stuff. There are lots of other collections though none as thoroughly curated as that. TOSEC for example.
Have fun
