Emulators

Post by Bill H »

Hi all, am looking doing some emulating and am wondering which emulator do you think is best? I will be using a toshiba netbook running windows 7 starter for my emulating. Is there any .p files that can test how "compatible" an emulator is? An emulator I used to like using was ts1000.exe, a no frills dos based one created I believe by Jeff Vassour(sp?)

I also used to use 81 a lot, and though it has awesome capabilities it doesn't feel like the original system ( windows and all )

I use EightyOne. It's spot-on. Use something like rezzurection/maxdemo or Andy's ULA test/demo (Sorry - can't remember where the post is - someone remind me please!). People say good things about no$'s debugger, but I've had little luck with it. I can't vouch for any other emulators simply 'cos I haven't used them...

EO will go full-screen. Just press esc.

It appears windows 7 starter will not let a dos program go full screen so Jeff v's ts1000.exe is out - will look at EO now, where can I get the most recent build? I have one from 5 years ago :) ( has my ram pack wobble request feature in it)

Get the very latest from the forum here - viewtopic.php?t=477

This only contains zx80 & 81 - you need to track down the full installer to get the rest. Ut

It does have zxpand emulation though ;)

Oh and I kind-of fixed the coarse tuning bug in the AY emulation. It's still not 100% though.
