Unknown 18-pin ULA chip

Post by Tezz »

Hi all, I bought a bunch of new old stock components this week which included a small 18-pin Ferranti IC dated 8140. I can't seem to find any information about it online. It's marked ULA 1026E. Does anyone know anything about it?

Oops, I typed 9-pin instead of 18-pin in the title, can that be edited?

Yes when you edit your post you can also edit the subject. The first ever subject is also the subject of the thread. So this easy to change.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

It's the ULA used in the Sinclair printer.

I don't think there is anything online but when you've stared at the internals of many knackered Sinclair printers (its natural state) over the years these things tend to stick in your mind.

I must be one of the few left with a fully working ZX printer or at least until new belts are available if that campaign succeeds :)
