ZXpand error code

Hello all
When I switch on my ZXpand (older version) I just get the code 8/0 with the 8 being inverted. I have tried it in a couple of zeddys and get the same.
Doing a CAT also gives me the same error.
I have taken the card out (and blown it - old habits die hard), reformatted it and copied all the files back just in case but that made no difference.
I have held the reset for the 5 second factory reset in case I broke a setting.
Any suggestions welcome!
Lardo

ERROR 8 "STOP BUYING THE INTERNET LARDO"
Sorry Lardo that's unhelpful I know.
The old manual reads the same as the new one re this error code which is...
" 8 File already exists an attempt was made to open a file for writing. "
Which I assume means you are trying to replace "ABC.123 with ABC.123" although I cannot understand this as when using Xpand commander this is allowed with your old file being renamed "ABC.BAK"
The only one I tend to get is error nine when the spand is connected incorrectly.
Sorry I can't be of more help lardo

I'm not buying the whole of the internet. Just the bits on eBay.
I certainly didn't get a zeddy a couple of days ago and have another one arriving next week.
I'm not actually doing anything on the spand - just switching it on. I think it is configured to auto run the commander but that's it.
My name is Lardo and I have a zeddy buying problem....

In which case press shift on boot up and that stops commander.
There is a command config C = XX that stops the auto run but I cannot remember what the XX is!!

What firmware version shows up at boot?
I think you should re-flash the firmware, whatever. You can get the latest build over in the announcements topic.

I have found an MMC card small enough to format as FAT and put the latest firmware update on it. When I switched on the zeddy there was a deal of extra flashing on the 'spand so I assume it applied? Regardless I tried the 1.5 second reset process.
I still get the error when switching on and CONFIG "V" just returns 8/0 (8 is inverse). I get the same error regardless of whether there is a card in the spand or not.
Have I broken my 'spand?
I have the AY attachment - is it worth removing this to see if it works then?

I have reseated the ICs and the AY connector and it seems to be working fine again now - showing 2.6 troll
Guess I must have knocked it at some point.
