This box looks to be in amazing condition compared to the polys.

But I’m not sure I have seen edges of boxes looking like this? Note the end on the left:

Its not obviously being sold as repro:

I would say a copy as it has a satin/matt look to it whereas every box/sleeve I have come across in forty odd years of using has had a glossy finish and I would have expected a cheap sleeve to be used, given Clive's penny pinching attitude to things, not a box on a late issue three like this one.
Too perfect to be true unless it is some kind of import, I remember the ones issued in Germany had a yellow box if memory serves so will stand to be educated on this one.

Also the leads are not original and seem to be the type where you can plug in different plugs/sockets into the ends and I think it would be a struggle to get that 1/4 inch jack plug in the pictures to fit anything zeddy wise!

Also there is no manual which for something supposedly well looked after seems odd.

No, the box in question was from an ebay seller who later changed his description to admit the box was a repro of the original UK box. The yellow box was standard for those ZX81's sold in Germany I believe.
