From photos above, it appears a DIP chip will fit a ZIP or DIP socket? :?:

Pokemon,

I found a list of the Aries Electronics distributors for the Germany.
https://www.arieselec.com/distributors/Germany.htm

And Mouser Electronics;

Mouser Electronics
Germany (Main Branch)
Elsenheimerstr. 11
80687 Munich
Germany
Local: +49 (0)89 520 462 110

From what I learned online;
3M creates their own Textool products.

Sincerely yours,

1024MAK,

If you want any ZIF sockets with its round contact pins in the future, try this;

And Mouser Electronics;
Yes I know Mouser and do order regularly.
They don't have a german stock here, all I order comes from US stock with Fedex within 2 or 3 days. :P
The german address is only a bureau with a few representatives.
I think it comes from Mansfield, Texas. ;)

PokeMon and gammaray,

Both of you are correct!

Gammaray, go there and ask a clerk for an Aries ZIF socket bearing xx-655x-xx. You'll be very pleased that the certain socket's round pins will fit smoothly into the precision turned pin socket without any struggle nor needing a sledgehammer! :lol:

Thanks.

Sincerely yours,

Thanks. Mouser also sells within the U.K. (well, sends from the U.S.A.).

I'll have a look when I next order some parts.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:

Gammaray,

I quoted a part of your post above-mentioned.

"not what they need to be for a DIP

----------------------------

----------------------------"

The Aries ZIF socket's round contact pins look like this:

............................

............................

The Aries socket will fit smoothly onto this kind of the DIP socket without needing to fetch a mallet or a sledgehammer! :lol:
