I've just loaded the test file back into the editor and character 0 and 191 display as I had edited them:
In your screenshots, the I register is shown as 32 whereas in mine they are 33. For 128 character mode, the I register must be odd.

The problem is whereas at one time all 128 characters could be played with, now only the first 64 show any alteration and when used in a program only characters from the first 64 appear altered with any altered in the 128 region showing as the original character. Do you have WRX enabled in EightyOne? WRX is not compatible with UDGs.

I did not get colour when writing to dfile+#8000 (atrribute mode). What am I doing wrong? Do you have a working exemple? I've put together a quick example.
