Well, I just used INPUT as a quick and dirty method of getting data in quickly to check it all works, but it would be cool to use a better text editor. Could this be used with the ZX81 version of Tasword?

Re: TEXT81 - ZX81 to PC text conversion!
from your description your doing the conversion from Zeddy text to Ascci text on the fly in the zeddy right ? and in basic ?... what i would do is store the zeddy text as is, and then when your done (you can preview it this way too) before saving to SD call an MC routine to convert the bytes, will ...

TEXT81 - ZX81 to PC text conversion!
TEXT81.P One of the killer features of the ZXpand interface is the ability to save chunks of code from memory to the SD card - something the original ZX81 obviously lacked. This got me thinking - given that you can now save raw data from a ZX81, rather than just BASIC programs, you can potentially ...

ZX81 Versions/Issues
Is there a definitive list anywhere of the different issues and versions of the ZX81? I opened up my one for the first time today, as I fitted a new membrane. I've taken others apart before, but not this one. It says "Issue One" on the board, and has "1980" on it. It's got a green PCB (aren't some o...

Re: ZX81 keyboard and modulator fix
My son was a bit panic-stricken the other day when keys 1 to 4 on my ZX81 gave up the ghost, so I ordered one of the new membranes - I fitted it today. Very simple job, really, and I had it working first time. The new membranes are a really impressive match for the original - there's differences so ...

Heh! I like to keep things fresh!sirmorris wrote:Voted #1 in 'Things that I didn't expect to see on a ZX81 this week'
I was just looking at a QR code the other day, and it made me think that the ZX81's built-in graphics symbols would be perfect for making them...and they are.

Just for the hell of it - QR code on a ZX81!
QR codes seem to be getting everywhere these days - having just downloaded a QR code reader for my phone, I was keen to find out about how they work. Turns out they're quite simple, and looking at them, it struck me that several of the smaller sizes could be reproduced on the low-resolution display ...

Re: SPeccy ON the ZeddY
Has anyone tried running all of this on a real ZX81 using ZXPand?
Can we have some idiot-proof instructions?!?

Re: Memotext & word processing in general
Does anyone have a download link for Tasword for the ZX81?
Also, is there an easy way to get a ZX81 with an Alphacom 32 printer to print in lower case, and/or more than 32 characters per line? Ideally I'd like to do this without any extra hardware (although I do have a ZXPand )

Re: 2040 Printer - Clonable?
I decided to get a printer last year, as I fancied doing some creative things with my ZX81. I researched it a bit and decided against a ZX Printer, because of the type of paper needed. The Alphacom 32 seemed like just what I needed, and I picked one up on eBay. They're often available, paper is easy...
