Dang, I drop off the grid for a year or so ... and somebody develops LAN hardware for the ZX-81?
Cool! Have a ZXspand ... will this new gizmo work in conjunction with it on my T/S 1500?

Re: TS1500 Composite mod.
Pretty sure I purchased one of those, and it works nicely. Did try the mod in the OP, but didn't work at all for me.RWAP wrote:I can't say for certain but it does sound like a back-porch issue, I do know that some people have purchased the ZXVid from me to get composite video working on the TS1500

Re: Times Sinclair 1500 video out
The graphic is a scrolling marquis that runs on the ZXpand, and it is one of the demo programs, not really even one of the more impressive.

Re: Times Sinclair 1500 video out
Hi, if cabling was made correct (no shorts) you maybe have to recalibrate the two trimmers. Please refer to the instruction sheet for that. The TS1500 may have different voltages at the ULA output but this should be not a problem when re-adjusting. Ah yes, when all else fails, read the instructions...

Re: Times Sinclair 1500 video out
As for the RCA Jack, connected the black wire to the outside (jacket) wire, and the orange one to the center wire.

Re: Times Sinclair 1500 video out
I put it together as recommended, and from that output I get only a dark screen.
To see if my computer was still functional, I did hook up the video to the TV-out, and got the usual crappy picture with full functionality.
So, don't know where I went wrong. Pics are forthcoming.

Re: Times Sinclair 1500 video out
Okay, so got the job mostly done (soldering-wise anyway), except for the following, which confused me: The output orange and black can be soldered to a video/RCA jack (chinch) whil black is GND (outer signal) and orange inner signal. Not sure where to find that. Here are some pics of what I've done....
