Grant's pages have a new home
Hi. [Already posted this message elsewhere, but including it here in case you didn't know] For all those who follow my ZX80 (and other pages)... I have given up with the previous web hosting - they banned me because they said I was getting too many hits and instead of throttling as they used to, the...

Re: Bad Keyboard
If you fancy doing a bit of hacking then you can replace the bad section of the ribbon (usually where it bends) with normal stranded ribbon cable. No worries of it ever happening again. Here's one I knocked up earlier ;) ... sideView.jpg (still works fine 4 years later) Details are here: http://sear...

Re: MCM68764 EPROMs
...just double-check the pinout of the socket matches the EPROM . The ZX80 is a bit non-standard (in EPROM pinout terms) - I haven't checked the 81.
Details are on my page.

Re: 1k2b - 2 channel beeper routine for unexpanded ZX81
Hi. It's a pain that my pages go down occasionally (free hosting). Rest assured, they are still online and if they go down, please try again the following day. I see all are up and running at the moment. I also have a mirror up and running if needed - http://zx80.netai.net/grant/ (but please try the...

Re: Whoa?! Conductive rubber? In the 80s?
It's just carbon paint on the rubber nodule. You can buy it on eBay, or wherever. Normally used in most remote controls, the paint wears thin after use stopping the button working (how many remote controls have you had were you really need to press the buttons hard because they no longer conduct ver...

Ah... superfo, thanks, it must be your board that I recreated the track layouts from
Great scans, by the way.

Re: Jupiter Ace redrawn (next step from the ZX80?)
Hi.
Thanks for the offer, but I already have high-res scans that were sent to me some time ago that I used to do my track layouts.
Thanks anyway
(Also, about a week ago I added the heatsink dimensions to my page. More updates to come when I get time)
Regards.

Re: Jupiter Ace redrawn (next step from the ZX80?)
Ah, I also asked for more detailed photos :) The initial picture looked like they were new copies, however, the updated pics show they are genuine issue 2 PCBs. I think that given the current price, the final bid price will be a bit high (maybe too high for them to actually get used (probably just k...

Re: Jupiter Ace redrawn (next step from the ZX80?)

Various other page updates done, including modifications needed to install 2732 EPROMS on this (and the original) board. *****UPDATE 6th NOV 2019 - NEW HOSTING AND DOMAIN - PLEASE GO TO http://searle.wales A...
