Re: "Extreme" 1k programs for ZX80 and ZX81: starter kit

Hi Stefano,
Off topic - can I include your 1K chess port into my iOS ZX81 emulator?
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Russell J Marks - is anyone in contact?

I finally made contact with Russell: “Well I haven't done much programming for some years now, I kind of mostly trailed off with that around 2005/6. To be honest I was finding it a lot harder to do as I got older, and when it was just a hobby really it's hard not to drift onto other things. Probably...

Re: ZON X-81 vs ZON X

Hi Dim, After you kindly responded in the ZX81 Owners Facebook group I started looking at the notes on the schematic and with the help of Sirmorris testing using his real ZON X-81 the following conclusions were reached for the port addresses: A0 to A3 are always high A4 can be low or high for ZON X-...

Russell J Marks - is anyone in contact?

Hi Folks, I'd like to get in contact with Russell Marks, the author of the Z81 emulator (his code base was a starting point for other modern emulators): http://www.svgalib.org/rus/z81.html He doesn't seem to have been active since October 2004 according his change log. And his email address in the f...

ZON X-81 vs ZON X

Hi AY Gurus, I’m planning to add ZON support to my emulator. Looking at resources like: https://k1.spdns.de/Vintage/Sinclair/80/Peripherals/Bi-Pak%20ZON%20X-81%20Sound%20Module/ https://k1.spdns.de/Vintage/Sinclair/82/Peripherals/Bi-Pak%20ZON%20X%20Sound%20Module/ and then the source code for Eighty...

Re: Copyrights for New Generation Software games (e.g. 3D Monster Maze)

I was given the email address of Mr Caen the CEO of Interplay a couple of days after my post. Unfortunately, there was no response nor automated delivery failure message. Either after all these years they cannot confirm ownership or it is not in their interest to respond. I hope that the portfolio o...

Copyrights for New Generation Software games (e.g. 3D Monster Maze)

Posting here the result of my search for answers with the hope that someone else might have information to get past an impasse. Since 3D Monster Maze is such as a well known and loved title I’ve been looking into obtaining permission to bundle it with the iOS emulator app. If you read my previous po...

Re: Metropolis, a proper ZX80/81 demo

Hi Adam, Thanks for all your efforts. Version 1_1 for ZX81 seems to have done the trick: horizontal position is consistently the same (only 6 pixels off centre to the right), no other scrambled video. I still need to add the vertical blanking interval this weekend. In particular I want to see if it ...

Re: Metropolis, a proper ZX80/81 demo

I need to digest the comments above properly - the working day is about to start.. Initial thoughts after sleeping on this I think that the black bar is the hsync pulse outside the hsync acceptance window. And that following the recent change in my CRT emulation code for the vertical sync trigger du...

Re: Metropolis, a proper ZX80/81 demo

Hi Adam, Bearing in mind that I haven't fired it up on a real ZX81 yet - attached is what the latest version looks like on my emulator. The horizontal position is now always consistent but a black bar is now present with a scrambled image to the right of it. Hopefully this is just limited to a just ...
