Re: New hardware I/O board using Parallax Propeller

Blitted - I have met you before a few years ago I think in Ohio for some computer users group (C64 like single board parallax computer I think).

I have a Nano DEO FPGA that I used once with an RGB LED display project I wanted to re-create. I heard they were being used to emulate a Propeller II. (Tim)

Re: ZXPand+ IDC10 Serial port ideas!

I received my Adafruit Mini thermal printer from china - Cashino CSN-A2 (https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/datasheets/CSN-A2+User+Manual.pdf) - Manual spells Kashino but I have seen it online as Cashino. Re: ZXPand+ IDC10 Serial port ideas! - mini thermal printer

This morning I ordered from Adafruit their mini thermal printer https://www.adafruit.com/product/600 which works on TTL serial. Since I already figured out how to use the ZXPand+ IDC10 connector for TTL Serial for a serial Parallax LCD display https://sinclairzxworld.com/download/file.php?id=4377 an...

Re: Which is better? Spectrum or other....

I'm beginning to think this post should be brought into the Spectrum section but its ok with me either way. So is the Spectrum just a supped up ZX81 with better graphics, sound, etc. Is the expansion port the same on both. (i.e. can a ZXPand+ be used on a Spectrum or TS2068 or other related system? ...

Re: Which is better? Spectrum or other....

I went to the world of spectrum site and found a couple of games. I found a 128k and 48k version of lode runner and both play on the MIST with my atari (which I guess the games call it kengsiton or something) joystick. The 128k version plays music and loads fast (after I select the Tape Loader menu)...

Re: Which is better? Spectrum or other....

I was able to load and start the Spectrum MIST hardware device. It first displays a menu of: 128 Tape Loader 128 BASIC Calculator 48 BASIC TR-DOS If I select Tape loader it says (to cancel - Press BREAK twice) - so hitting keyboard keys doesn't appear to do anything unless I hit escape twice If I se...

Re: Which is better? Spectrum or other....

Thanks guys for all the information. I hooked up the MIST this morning and it still works. Can anyone tell me what I can do to test it with the Spectrum core loaded in? Is there a manual I can download to look at? Or just a quick check as I have not worked with it before. I’ll have to get the spectr...

Re: Which is better? Spectrum or other....

I just realized I have an FPGA MIST that provides hardware reproduction of old computer systems. I looked and there is a Spectrum 128K FPGA core available: ZX Spectrum 128K for MIST Board Some verilog models from Till Harbaum Spectrum core were used in this project. Features: •Fully functional ZX Sp...
