Re: 3 up - 3 to go

Re: Memopak Keyboard
Still have and still use my Atari STE with original monochrome monitor and second floppy drive for MIDI projects. I managed to get an ST at a decent price on eBay. Hermes delivered it and I poured it out of the box. I could have wept, it was in dozens of pieces. Maybe one day I'll get another, but ...

Thanks Mark,1024MAK wrote: If you still use the ULA's /RAMCS (on the RAM chip side of the resistor) in the decoding for the internal 32k RAM chip, yes.
Mark
I'll try plugging it in and see what happens. The ULA/RAMCS stuff goes way over my head

Re: Memopak Keyboard
My first keyboard was a dkTronics one. I entered a lot of programs back then and dont remember it being to bad. When I got the Spectrum, I used it with that, didnt bother changing the stick on labels either. It was used for years until I got an Atari ST around 1990. I wish I had never got rid of the...

Re: Memopak Keyboard
Thanks Moggy, Sometimes I get what feels like keys sticking. I thought it was maybe me typing a bit too fast or pushing it at an angle but its probably just down to the mechanism not being a true switched design. I always thought the design and construction was the best of all addon keyboards. The m...

Re: 3 up - 3 to go
If you have a 16k RAM-pack, make it HRG-compatible. Simple enough, and very cheap. Lacking a RAM-pack, build it internally. Trick out the ZX81 with 32k in the 16-48k range (HRG compatible) and 8k in the 8-16k area (make it UDG compatible). This will allow you to run most programs. Thats the stuff, ...

Memopak Keyboard
Got a Memopak keyboard which is great. But if I type a bit quick it still misses key presses like the membrane keyboard.
I always thought that he keyboard buffer would eliminate that. Has anyone else noticed this or do I have a faulty module.
Also, is it possible to extend the length of the cable?

Re: 3 up - 3 to go
Cheers Moggy
very nice addons but maybe a bit too expensive for me at the moment, especially as it will be for ZX81 No.4.
I am thinking more along the lines off what can be built or modded my Mr Clumsy (me) on a budget.

3 up - 3 to go
I've just resurrected another ZX81, an Issue 1 with Recom regulator, ULA heatsink, Pokemons ZX8CCB composite module and a new ZXPand keyboard membrane. Picture is rock steady. I've got another three basket cases to look at and am thinking of including Pokemons switched keyboard next. Apart from the ...

Re: BASIC
Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought it was possible to to enter commands letter by letter like the Spectrum BasInc emulator. ie. by typing the individual letters and not direct keywords.
