Re: ZX81 ULA-in-a-CPLD

But without the familiar video-disturbance patterns, how will I be able to debug where the code begins/ends?! I'll be lost forever in an endless loop! ;)

yerzmyey: as creative as the spelling is, please change my name to "Adam Klotblixt" in the credits :)

mrtinb: there is a bug in the zxpand seek implementation in EO, update should arrive when SirMorris has had time to act.

Re: Sketchy - An online screen designer

Just tested it. Works nicely, but the direction keys do not work properly for me. The position is moved, but a '?' is also added.

Re: Bad Apple UDG

I am working on the encoder code, but going is slow. Anyone "needing" it can of course get a work-in-progress, but it requires a strong stomach for bad code, as well as some python fluency :)

Re: If you like your submarine simulations fast, arcadey,...

Oh, and both were switching PSUs with voltage settings. It did not matter what voltage was set, 7/9/11V yielded the same results on both. I haven't looked at the troublesome PSU in a scope, but it might be time for that.

Re: If you like your submarine simulations fast, arcadey,...

I had the same problem with both my udg boards. On 3 different zx81s, but sorted as soon as I changed power supply. I guess the first psu was nosiy.

Re: Bad Apple UDG

You really stroke my ego nicely, thank you all! I think I'll have to speed up the release process of the source... Along with some notes on how to make the videos. Not a small undertaking. At least I have laid the ZX80 version of the player to rest, not possible to make with my understanding of port...

Re: Bad Apple UDG

mrtinb: I'll start with encoding Big Buck Bunny, and share that. Then I'll have to clean up the code, in a major way. It works but is embarrassingly slow and ugly. 3 minutes of video takes around 8 hours on my i7 computer, though it utilises only one thread. So in short: I will share the code for bo...
