Hi Paul,
Where do you live in Germany?
I have been to Germany five times for work.
I work for a company called Wacker Chemical. Located in Munich and Burghausen (near Austria, in Bavaria).
Really like the Bavarian area.

Re: Cataloging a tape.
Hi, And now as I read the "tape header" program my mind is completely blown to realize that a tape file exists in a "wav" format?! That is very wild to me. This must be why the manual talked so much about picking a tape player and using lower quality tapes, because the machine responded better to sp...

Re: Cataloging a tape.
Hi guys, One question just brings up another it seems. When I'm using the "Eighty-One" emulator, I just usually load a tape image and work from that as if it were the real machine. So that is why the question came up. No tape counters in the emulator, so it got me thinking. Looks like I'd just bette...

Okay, so how do most people remember the contents of the tape?1024MAK wrote:No. The file system is as simple as possible to keep the size of BASIC within the space of the 8k byte ROM chip.

Obvious answer: write it down?
Thanks for dealing with my simple questions! Really appreciate it.

Just took delivery - T/S 2068
Hi all, Hope this counts for a "spectrum" topic. Just took delivery of my brand "new" T/S 2068 yesterday. Haven't even opened the box yet! Got it off of eBay for a good "make an offer" price. Buyer said he "thought" it worked, so I took a chance. So this machine will either be working or will be a "...

Cataloging a tape.
Hi all,
I was wondering how to list the contents of a tape?
I understand:
load ""
load "name"
But is there something like *CAT (like in BBC Basic)?
Thanks!

No user defined functions.
Hi all, From reading my trusty T/S 1000 User Manual last night I came across the sentence, "Sinclair BASIC lacks user-defined functions". This was a bit of a surprise to me. I was trying to decide how difficult that would make things. Not sure, but it could make things more challenging in some respe...

Does that mean that it can go even higher in resolution?RetroTechie wrote:256x192 black & white dots is 'standard' these days (hi-res), but it's not a hard limit.
