I now that some people still mix up the EAR and MIC sockets - on a ZX81 they share the same circuit (as far as I recall), which doesn't help, but you need to ensure that to load programs, the lead is plugged into the EAR socket!

I did start a discussion a few years ago about CoCo membranes but there was just not enough interest - and not helped by several different membranes in these machines. The main market seems to be in the USA and so ideally you need a manufacturer in the US because of the costs of importing them etc. ...

You have a ZXpand Keyboard Membrane (blue tails). We had an issue with the bonding of the silver ink on some of these (the factory are still not sure why) so the easiest is to send you a replacement. Thanks for the pictures XavSnap - that is helpful as we can all see the keys link to the middle pin in the 5 way connector.
