Re: Appraisal of my ZX81's worthiness?

Mark makes a very valid point about the voltage regulator heat sink screw. I always replace the voltage regulator and don’t leave them switch on for long in their original state.

Re: Appraisal of my ZX81's worthiness?

Looks nice and £15 is a bargain! If you use another PSU make sure the tip polarity is correct. I have bought PSUs from here before: https://www.oldskoolconsoles.com/product-page/power-supply They are the same as Atari 2600 PSUs. Dry joints are not uncommon on Sinclair stuff. I have seen some joints ...

Re: Spectrum 128K +2A RF sound issues

I found C24 intact:

But while hunting for C25 I noticed C53 has been snipped off. Is that anything to do with sound or just a coincidence?

That is extremely cool. But I was expecting a song about ‘An awfully strange marine’!

Spectrum 128K +2A RF sound issues

Hi all I have an otherwise lovely +2A that does not produce sound on the RF out to the telly (well, it produces a hiss as though not tuned in, which it is). If I use a SCART then I get a great picture and sound. It is the later revision of the +2A that has the corrected sound circuit. I have recappe...

Re: ZXForth. Plagerism, clever marketing or something else?

I look forward to Manic Moggy - sounds awesome! I’ve read a chunk of the commented disassembly of this game so I wish you luck moving stuff around. :D Even if stuff is in a different order if the subroutines themselves are identical I would still think that will fall foul of copyright. Code being in...

Re: ZXForth. Plagerism, clever marketing or something else?

Looks like now is the time to sell Jupiter Ace’s! AF423564-0971-4CA7-9512-D6A535E88171.png Going back to the original article unfortunately its a bit blurry - possibly a reduction in image quality when attached? Or my eyesight... However if two sets of code are virtually identical and share ...

Re: TS1500 problems when using a ZX8-CCP

I have a TS1500 (which I had to ship from America to the UK) but I wimped out and got Mutant Caterpillar Games to fit a ZXVid (https://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtopic.php?p=26879#p26879) which does a fantastic job on the display as i believe it is ‘auto adjusting‘ or at the least rarely needs adju...
