I really want to use my Commodore monitors but I need to be able to load the ZX via OLTA and space wont allow for a big monitor.
I'm in the same boat there, my Amiga multisync monitor has been in storage for many years.

Re: New find zx81 and updates

Indeed and the wonderful digital scaling  I usually do correctly refer to modern CCFL/LED TVs as LCDs. For a quiet life I stopped bothering as people seem these days to prefer calling CCFL backlit screens LCDs and LED backlit screens simply as LEDs to differentiate between them.

Re: New find zx81 and updates

Thanks, I've only tried mine on a 1999 CRT TV that I have in the back room which gave a very good output. I should take a look on the modern LED TVs that I have in the house too to see how it fairs.

Re: New find zx81 and updates

The 555 design came from JoulesperCoulomb YouTube videos. On his design there are 4 resisters. I replaced the 68 and 56 ohm resisters with 100 ohm pots. For me R4 the 56 ohm did the more adjustment to the output. The POTs do cause some issues with it fitting in the RF shield. I don't really know wh...

Re: New find zx81 and updates

Good stuff, I've made a few of the 555 based Composite video boards too, do you have a details of adding the turn based pots? That was something that I wanted to get around to asking advice on here :)

Re: Fuller FD42 Keyboard

I've started to vector trace the extension PCB photo now in Illustrator. I'm not able to see the connector under the 16K expansion that's plugged into it in the photo but once I have the accurate measurements I can try a first test print out to see how well everything lines up inside the case.

I use thin double sided tape carefully cut to size for fixing partly loose labels.

Thanks Mark, I think I should retain the original sticker.

that fuller with the extension, and, yes, rampack is mine 😉 if you'd like the dimensions of the extender board, give me a few days to dig it out (part of my 'round to it' pile) and measure things 😁
That would be great thanks!

Re: Fuller FD42 Keyboard

The case and keyboard cleaned up well :) I just need the expansion port extension now. I'm not sure whether to remove the sticker or glue it back down where it's lifted. Fuller_FD42_2.png Fuller_FD42_1.png Here's a couple of photos of the back/side of the case where you can see that the ports are th...

Re: Fuller FD42 Keyboard

Thanks Mark, that's helpful to see for reference. I'm not sure how to tackle the vertical internal edge connector, if that could be made as a separate part to attach to the main extension board manually I could then get a simple PCB manufactured. I'll start working on the layout in illustrator tonig...
