Re: Help on MIC-Output ZX81

Sorry I haven’t followed this thread. Big delivery at work. I haven’t made any special hardware to load files. I simply have a home made TZXduino, which standard firmware outputs 0V or 5V on a pin. This is fed directly into the EAR of ZX81. If you measure this on playback you’ll get the average 2.5...

Hey ho.
So then, with only 0.08V out from the 9V power supply, I'm guessing it doesn't work yet.

Re: ‘Tatung 81’ (ZX81 in a case)

If you are comfortable and proficient using a volt meter unplug the connector going to the 9V in jack on the ZX81 board (the black plug), switch the power on and check the output to that plug with a volt meter. It should read between 9V and 12V DC. Check it on AC V and it should read 0. If you are n...

Re: Sometimes Screen lifts up when pressing keys

Hi all. This is a problem I’ve got with several Zx81 of mine. If a press some keys, sometime the screen ‘lifts up’ showing this horizontal black line. If i reposition slightly the video cable the problem temporary goes off and then goes back. This happens either with composite mod, either without. ...

Re: Issue 1 ZX81, some keys not working - keyboard looks ok, also RAM packs don't work

Hi, I've got a rather battered Issue 1 ZX81 that I'm considering restoring (I already have another fully-refurbed one I bought from Ebay) It powers up OK, but some keys don't work - HJKL and NEWLINE. I opened it up and checked the keyboard connectors and they look ok - no obvious breaks, so I'm not...

Not tried the printer or tapes yet but everything else works ok.
Nice external keyboard. :)
