ZX Spectrum 128K +2A video

Hi, I just recently got the 128K +2A and got the RGB to SCART cable from RetroShack, which I then upscale to HDMI (I'm in the US). The video works but it seems to have a lot of noise in it. I expected a really clean, crisp output. Is this normal for the Spectrum or is there likely something wrong? t...

Re: New Episode of Floppy Days Podcast - Interview with John Grant

Andy, I apologize for not doing your work on a replacement ULA for the ZX81 justice. As you'll see on the next episode where we cover modern upgrades, we didn't cover it hardly at all.

Can you send me a 1-minute audio segment on it, and I'd be happy to include it.

thanks!

Thanks, Andy!

I don't think I gave your work enough credit. I'll try to get it added in before publication.

Re: ZX80/81 & TS1000/1500 modern upgrades

Thank you all of you for the great information!

I will be discussing these upgrades in an upcoming episode of the Floppy Days Podcast around the end of July. This information was most helpful.

Re: ZX80/81 & TS1000/1500 modern upgrades

Thanks for all the information! Wow, there are a lot of cool upgrades for the ZX80/81. I had no idea. Randy The German forum members, ZX-TEAM has made several storage upgrades through time. The final product in this line is the VDRIVE. This is a controller for a USB-stick. In the English forum there...

Re: ZX80/81 & TS1000/1500 modern upgrades

Awesome, thank you! Sounds like a great memory upgrade. Randy My personal vote would go to the ZX-TEAM mod for 16 or 32K on the ZX81 motherboard. http://www.zx81.de/english/_frame_e.htm Everybody knows those wobbly, inept, high failure-rate 16K RAM packs are a royal pain. The "Hardware Projects" sec...

ZX80/81 & TS1000/1500 modern upgrades

Hi, I'm doing research for a podcast (Floppy Days, floppydays.com) about the Sinclair ZX80 line and wondered if anyone had information on the best, most popular, coolest modern upgrades for that line of computers. Your help would be much appreciated.

thanks!
