My ancient Zeddy!

Hi all, Here's a photo of my first computer I'm offering as an introduction. It's actually a TS-1000+Zxpand+, not a ZX-1881 :) Don't mind the fake throw switch on the right, I'll replace it with a real blade switch to control the inverse video as soon as I can find it in my piles of junk. :) ZX1881s...

Re: Whats this?

Hello all, That connector and the proximity to the keyboard connectors make me think it could be an "East Lodon Robotics Programmable Joystick Interface" (no pics) . East London Robotics apparently made the Trickstick and if you look at the picture of it there seems to be a similar connector. But it...

Re: Some questions about ZXPand+ serial port

Hey all,
I just wanted to let you know that I replaced my serial cable and now sending to the ZX works fine (LOAD "$" works great, but there's no LOAD "$ STOP" :) ).

Next step is to try the SERIAL GET command soon and then rule the world. :)

Re: Some questions about ZXPand+ serial port

@Paul Turns out the problem is with my TTL/RS232 voltage converter so the signals aren't detected correctly. I'll get a new one and hope my Zxpand didn't melt. :)

Thanks for your input though. I'll report here when I have news.

Re: Some questions about ZXPand+ serial port

@Moggy That's great! I glanced at the updated manual and the command is there, there doesn't seem to be any info on getting the buffer size/data transferred but maybe I can figure it out from the string termination standard SirMorris uses. Time to get coding on the Zeddy again, I haven't done that i...

Some questions about ZXPand+ serial port

Hello all! I've finally managed to revive & mod a deadish TS1000 I bought on eBay (pictures soon) and I'm moving on to playing with my sweet ZXPand+. For my project I was planning on using bidirectional serial communication with a PC serial port and using the PC as an internet proxy (Zeddynet is in ...

Re: Should i move to Europe to acquire a ZX81?

I've bought 2 Timex-Sinclair 1000's recently on ebay.ca for 40 CAD on average (30 USD) including shipping (doorstop only, no power supply). It's probably much cheaper than moving to Europe. And you don't have to pick a country to move to. :)
