Re: I ordered the TS1500 from eBay and the seller shipped it in the briefcase
I spoke to the seller who said that he had shipped it in a box and that it was clean when it was shipped. I've never had USPS remove an item and repackage it like this. I have seen them open a box for reasons but they have always left some kind of note on the outside. Maybe I'm especially lucky that...

If I'd known ahead of time I would have warned him that it's 35 years old. I'm lucky it didn't crack open during shipment. These cases are pretty garbage and not meant for shipping.

Re: No video output from my TS1500
I've been meaning to add a quality oscilloscope to my workbench for a while now. My research suggests that an entry level Rigol DS1054Z is a good unit.
Would this be sufficient for any diagnostics I would need to do on a TS1500?
What would I need for logic probes?

Re: Tape Loading Inconsistency Trouble
If you had to use Virtual PC, it may be a 16-bit application.

My thread may related:

You're going to have a problem with a stereo line-out and the Timex mono input.
That's my guess.
I've ordered some adapters for testing but they're still in the mail.

Re: Will using a mono cable in a stereo line-out cause problems with LOAD?
Upon further inspection with an audio book, the QFX is playing back cassettes slightly fast and/or is off pitch this may be the real problem.

Will using a mono cable in a stereo line-out cause problems with LOAD?
Today has been my first try at saving and loading programs from tape. It has been quite an adventure! I have been unable to load programs from a newer cassette player which I believe has a stereo line-out. I'm guessing that this problem may have to do with the player trying to output two channels on...

"mic" and "ear" labels are confusing
I was having trouble saving and loading from my TS1000. I had to read the manual to find out that they labeled these connectors to match the labeling of the cassette player, I guess to make it "easier" for the user. But it's confusing to me because "mic" is actually line-out (microphone/recording ou...

Re: No video output from my TS1500
I ordered an inexpensive oscilloscope from eBay along with some leads and a function generator for testing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203047787848 I don't think I'll need an expensive unit for basic testing. I've never used an oscilloscope before and I don't think I'll need the features of a larger u...
