Re: Spectrum lost colour on composite but gained stripes on YUV
Thanks again Mike for your help - a bit of an update and some success! Transplanting later ULA into faulty machine fixed the horizontal bars seen over the yuv edge output (into a RGBTOHDMI device), so assume faulty ULA. But had no effect on composite out suddenly becoming black and white (losing col...

Re: Spectrum lost colour on composite but gained stripes on YUV
Thanks Mike! Yes I do have a second machine that is fully operational - issue 3B with ULA 6C0013E-7 (the one that's faulty is issue 3). I will compare those signals between both machines as suggested. And then onto the ULA - just need to doublecheck compatability. I have ordered a few replacementIC ...

Re: Spectrum lost colour on composite but gained stripes on YUV
Pin out on RGBTOHDMI to edge connector is: Pin1 (GND) 14B Pin 2 16B Pin3 18B Pin4 16B Pin 5 17B Pin 6 NC Also testing with a Retroleum test cart reports IC25/IC26 as being suspect Traced between the 3 edge connector contacts to the 3 relevant pins on the ULA ok, no shorts between them, also between ...

Spectrum lost colour on composite but gained stripes on YUV
Hi, I've got a Spectrum 48K which has got a black and white composite picture, and a stripey picture via YUV out (RGBTOHDMI converter). Both were working fine previously but I am worried I might have zapped something through poor edge connector hygiene. The RGBTOHDMI is supplied YUV video from an ed...

Re: Minstrel 3 with some 1K games
Mine1K (do you mean minesweeper) Hi Dr Beep, yes sorry I meant your JK Minesweeper. With this game I took some further attempts last night at loading it with the Minstrel 3. Via the ZXpand it will load as far as defining the keys, and then after entering the final key for 'Mark', it either resets o...

Re: Minstrel 3 with some 1K games
Hmm, just referred to the ZXpand manual and apparently config "m=L" should help with WRX games, but I can't see mention of this within the manual Minstrel3 version of the ZXpand, and doesn't seem to help with the promlematic games anyway

Minstrel 3 with some 1K games
Hi All, I built one of the excellent Minstrel 3. Very nice to use, very reliable, and a very nice package with integrated keyboard and ZXpand. However, reviewing some of the games on Villordsutch's Youtube channel I've come across a section of games that I can't seem to get to load from the SD card ...

Re: ZX81 Clone Tynemouth Minstrel 3
That's good news. Yeah I used one of these cheap mono amplifier kits off the internet TDA2030A with two mono 3.5mm jacked wires connect to it's input and output, powered by a variable power supply set I think at about 4.5V now. I don't know if it's the right way to do it but I have increased the vol...
