TS1500 no video

Is there an overall troubleshooting list or anything that would apply to the 1500? I bought one off ebay, thinking it worked, but no idea really (it was in great cosmetic condition). There's only two socketed chips and they are firmly in there. The ULA is the later model square one. I did the compos...

Re: should I do the composite mod?

There's also this one which seems a bit fancier and is more expensive, but I don't know the technical differences. I ordered one but not got it working yet.

Re: New (to me Speccy)

Funny, I was looking at just those things on amazon and will no doubt pick one up. I just got my Composite mod board from the UK, time to put it in the 1500 along with a DC/DC power to replace the 7805 and give it a go, and then do the speccy (not arrived yet, along with a QL lol)

I should have thought of a key press... I dynamically define the key functions at startup anyway. I'll file that one away for future use too.

Re: What am I missing? - Calling RND from assembly.

Stefano, thanks, great point! When we are done with it, we'll run it on our real TS1000/TS1500's but sure is a lot easier to develop on modern computer. Even with that constraint we got it working ok now, and can only be more random on the real thing. On to code optimization and arrays....

Thanks!

Re: New (to me Speccy)

Thanks Mark. It is a 48k rubber key model. I got a spare keyboard membrane also. So sounds like best bet is to hook up to various displays and see if something works - I imagine something will sync :) If not, I guess its ok. I have the TS1500, TS2068, and the Next on they way so it can pretty up my ...

New (to me Speccy)

Been wanting one since the day they were introduced. I could only afford a TS1000, and later got the TS2068 (new).. Time passed, life moved on, and I'm on the nostalgia kick and got one off ebay UK. What do I need to do to run this thing in he USA? I get I'll need a power adapter (Can I use the one ...

Re: Christmas Comes But Once A Year...

Fun to relive youth eh? I remember when the Spectrum came out, and I saw an article about it in a sinclair mag in the USA. We never got it, but I always wanted one... Just got one almost 40 years later off ebay UK lol

Re: Back with the Zed Exes!

Like most of us I bet!

I had TS1000 (our ZX81 over here), then a TS2068 (Our speccy - my buddy just bought me a virtually new in box one as he has my original, then Atari 520/1040ST, TT030, PC, Mac, and now back to ZX with a 2068, TS1500, and Speccy Next on order!)
