Re: Cassette60, the reviews.

Very cool 1K games. I was amazed by Qbert in 1K, awesome gameplay and fantastic port! I also liked the Defender type game, would love to see you create a 16K version of Defender and can't wait to see the new Pacman game you are working on! :) The pacman game is already available for some time. Than...

Re: Cassette60, the reviews.

Hello to you all.... I notice that my games are downloaded A LOT, all for free, b ut I asked for a nice review of the games which, besides the hilaric videos of Rod Bell seems to stay away. Since Rod did not review all the games I am starting this simple review topic. You pick a game from the 60 1K...

Re: The Sinclair ZX80/81 and TS1000 taught more efficient programming

Yes Sinclair BASIC was really well tailored to the machine and had more advanced features for programming and error detection compared to the C64. The Atari 400/800 had similar ability to detect programming errors in a line as you typed it in also. Few other contemporary micros had that functionalit...

The Sinclair ZX80/81 and TS1000 taught more efficient programming

A lot has been written about the ZX-81 introducing people to programming and computers. Home Computers were an extension of the Dartmouth BASIC experiment going beyond the academic curriculum to teach programming to the general population. The ZX-80 and ZX-81 machines have amazing manuals that are a...

Re: Hello from the Netherlands..

I remember I was about 9 years old when I got my first computer, a Timex Sinclair 1000 with a 16K RAMpack, which turned out to be really dodgy. I taught myself Basic by typing in programs from books and listings from magazines. I enjoyed playing games on it, getting really annoyed when the RAMpack ...

Re: Hello I took a Timex out of the Library in 1983

You'll find some resources over here: https://www.timexsinclair.com/computers/timex-sinclair-1000/ Cool site I liked the descriptions and photos of the systems, wonder if the MicroAce influenced the ZX81/TS1000 black case and streamlining. Checked out of the library? I learned something new today, ...

Re: Hello I took a Timex out of the Library in 1983

Thanks Moggy and Barry! I've been reading the manuals online and have downloaded EightyOne and some classics and amazing new games like 1K hires Qbert and ZX81 Assembly lessons from Dr Beep. That is a very interesting article you linked on rewriting the video driver for tile based blitter games, I'm...
