I just finished 'upgrading' one of my zx81's. it now has 32K of internal memory.

manufacturing the board = $11.27 each
Time, cutting down slots and soldering in = 1 hour
My time, priceless.
$41.27 my cost, not including labor.
Selling for $40 to members of this forum.
