Re: An interesting site on the ZX81

From memory Adventure D wasn't released for the ZX81 or was it It was - I own an original copy somewhere around here. Adventure E, The golden apple was never released on the ZX81 though. Sandy White from Quicksilva and His "Softsolid" 3d engine written on a 6502 machine as a generic 3d engine to be...

Re: An interesting site on the ZX81

Talking of Artic and Development tools... If you open up their Adventures A-D in a hex editor, you'll see all the text for Adventures A-C is ZX code whereas adventure D is in ASCII. To me, this would imply they developed the first three games on a ZX and the last on something else. I wonder what dev...

Re: DMA - no!

I was pondering this at work today, while fighting with yet another exchange server that had fallen over...

Are you using Static or Dynamic RAM? If Dynamic, how is the memory getting refreshed?

Re: 14th ZX-TEAM-meeting

I'd really truely love to attend one of your meetings...

But it'd cost me a fortune in petrol to get the Skyline to Germany, and I must renew my passport, and I don't speak a word of German lol.

Still, one of these days...

Re: DMA - no!

Bear with me here, I'm a little rusty on these things... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the BUSRQ and BUSAK lines are not connected to the ULA. My guess is that when the Z80 releases the bus, you're not asserting all the relevant signals and the ULA thinks something is going on that isn't... Without t...

Re: EightyOne - time to bring it up to date?

Yes I'm still alive :)

I think it's a good idea to bring EO up to date - I might even be able to help a little...

I can confirm it works well on Windows 7 64 bit already :)

PS. I like the word organic lol

Re: Who have an ASM code to collapse a Dfile !

Don't know if it's any use to you, but to collapse the display file from BASIC you can use SCROLL. If you SCROLL 22 times you'll have a completely collapsed display file.

Re: ZX81 Motherboard

I suppose one way of truely finding out is to dump the ROM in one of these machines and see if it's any different to other ZX81 ROMs. Obviously it'd need to be read in a programmer and not just via the ZX81, else we'd see the effects of the patch too.
