Re: Unusual PSU

One of my power supplies was made in Lincolnshire. The board has place of origin on it as part of the design but sadly not the maker. :(

Re: Memotech Z80 Assembler question

I just tried using real Memotech unit in fast mode and it promptly crashed, with no problem in slow mode.

Re: Memotech Z80 Assembler question

Great work Martin for which I am thankful.

I seem to recall that the original Memotech unit would only work in slow mode when USR 16258 is called.
I will check this and report the result.

Re: Did the original ZX80 "new" ROM really contain.....

The keywords on the prototype zx81 keyboard mentioned can be found on the slide-show featured on the Dickinson Associates site here....

READ and RESTORE for example was on the Q/W keys. Just scroll through the ZX80 stuff to find relevant picture.

Re: Hires on a ZX80

Tried this on real ZX80 wth ZXpand and the result was pretty poor to be honest. Also there is a pseudo-high-res demo out there for the 80 which I have attached just in case you missed it,which may be of some use. It was created by nollkolltroll and the relevant thread can be found here.. https://www...

Did the original ZX80 "new" ROM really contain.....

Like the majority here I do know that the original ZX81 ROM was supposed to contain some commands that were sacrificed for the printer routines. Whilst browsing through the book, "Making the most of your ZX80", I noticed the author mentions the "new" ROM available for the ZX80 and lists the commands...

Re: Zxpand+ / Memotech pack mod

No the spand+ is slightly too large for the Memotech case so the ones sold on Sell My Retro would be the way to go. I would also advise that if enclosing the board then use a regulated power pack of about 1.5/2 amps set for 7.5 volts with the spand+ as the two small voltage regs on the back of the s...
