Re: vLA81 ULA and 16/32K internal RAM

I have said it once before and will say it again Lardo your refurbs, expertly done then passed on at a good honest price with an equally honest listing, does you credit and it 's nice to know there are at least 40 odd people who are part of our world, hopefully, with a decent tooter to play with. As...

Re: vLA81 ULA and 16/32K internal RAM

Excellent post. They are there to be used and abused imo. not polished or put in glass cabinets. The first thing I did to my 80 was fit a switching reg, then ripped the guts out of the modulator to fit a composite board then finally a new ROM for ZXpand use and ended up with a much better tooter. My...

Re: Garbled display when certain keys are pressed.

It's weird how the ULA can partly fail. I had one that caused a white screen when certain keys were pressed but not others and was ok with a Memotech keyboard. A change of ULA curing this completely and testing the ULA on other systems which then exhibited the same fault confirmed a partially faulty...

Re: Masada Class reissued with 100% machine code

Managed to get to the end screen but needed 20 lives to do it!

A great game with excellent use of the zeddies native chr set. :D

Re: Garbled display when certain keys are pressed.

With the xpand you are running on its ROM (albeit with the chr table from the zeddy ROM) so I suspect it could be that old issue one(158) ULA partly giving up the ghost, but as everything is socketed then, as you suggest, try chips from another zeddy.

Many thanks Martin, once again you come to the rescue.

Like you suggest a manual or some simple instruction would be useful.

Re: HRWP

Tried this with 2 different emulators and 3 real zeddies and all I get is a screen full of garbage. Is there some magical combinations of buttons to press or is this for gurus only?

Re: Connecting a AY-3-8910 for a ZX Spectrum 128k clone

Have you even considered that your stock of chips could be duff, or that they may be as described in the wiki article or are you dismissing this completely ? I only ask because if you are are confident in your d/board being correct then I cannot see what could be the problem other than what as been ...
