Re: Stunned. 61mA

I think there were lower consumption Z80 in the list, and Sir Morris was aiming to go low, so I wouldn't be surprised if he went into the low 50mA. Selfridges may only have "sold" to Atari, but that doesn't preclude Sinclair getting a sample. No I'm sorry Michelle you really don't have a handle on ...

No only US models using the imperial system buy their cursors from Sears, Euro models require the metric equivalent hence Selfridge.

Re: Stunned. 61mA

Serious head on.

I believe Mark has already mentioned that Sir Morris did a low power jobby but I'm not sure what internals were involved, I may give him a call and find out just what he did for comparison.

PS Selfridge never sold cursors to Sinclair as they were sole suppliers to Atari.

Re: Stunned. 61mA

A lot of it depends on which "K" cursor was supplied with the ROM. Sinclair outsourced their cursors from at least ten different cursor suppliers and if your power draw is that low then it would mean you have the cursor supplied by Meanbugga and son. They were well know for their low power consumpti...

Re: ZX81 toZX80 conversion.

Just thought it might be of interest. Hi Moggy, I think it is of interest and as it's still fresh, could you please add some links for interested people to those pdf in the forum and also to the four resistor add-on. Oldies like you and I know, but there are newbies out there as well :ugeek: Yes wi...

ZX81 toZX80 conversion.

Having acquired a Zeddy from Lardo, I was intending to turn it into a ZX80 as cheaply as possible, however it was far too good to butcher as Lardo had re-done the logo, fitted new feet etc and seeing it has an original working membrane (far better and much softer key press in use than the replacemen...
