Seems like I had some real good luck when I just clicked onto SellMyRetro and managed to order a ZXpand on my first try!
I'll probably be keeping an eye out for the AY module as well, depending on price. Is there any indication what they will cost approximately?

Re: Charset ROM location changed on ZXPand?
Ran it again now with the ;X parameter added - worked like a charm.
Sorry again for missing that this was mentioned in the manual!

Re: Charset ROM location changed on ZXPand?
Oops! Well, in my defense the ZXpand was so easy to get started with that I didn't find any need to read the manual!

Charset ROM location changed on ZXPand?
When I test-ran my demo Somwhat Less Limited Capabilities on my newly acquired ZXpand, I noticed that the scroller was completely garbled. I read the data for the font from ROM location 0x1e00 and forwards, and it worked fine when I ran it before using a normal 16kb expansion. Does the ZXpand ROM re...

Where does the AY addon plug into a ZXpand?
This might be a stupid question, but I just got my ZXpand (nice piece of hardware btw. - love being able to quickly load my programs) and there's one thing I'm a bit unclear of. Since I like coding demos and stuff, I do have a bit of interest in perhaps getting the AY board addon sometime. But looki...

Re: More ZXpands Available Now
Since I can't seem to get loading from MP3-player to work on my ZX81 anymore, I think I will need to look into getting a ZXpand perhaps!

Re: How to minimize ZX81 binaries?
When you say "final binary" do you mean a .P file? If so, that will include all the system variables, the BASIC program itself, and also the display buffer. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I think the system variables will be probably be 30+ bytes, and the smallest possible display buffer - ...

How to minimize ZX81 binaries?
Lately there has been kind of an new fad over at demoscene site Pouet, where people have been implementing the classic TV-noise effect on different platforms, and trying to get it as small as possible. Of course I wanted to give it a shot on the ZX81, you can find my attempt here: TV noise ZX81 by N...

Re: Developing new ZX81 Video Driver
This is very interesting stuff!I took a quick peek at the code, but I guess it will take a while to grasp how it all works. I've been having thoughts on trying to create modes such as 32x16 text or 256x128 pseudo hires for my demos to try to get a bit more processing time compared to "normal" modes,...
