Re: OpArt for the ZX81 with Chroma

Nice! I've added a link to the program from my website.

One issue that caught me out for a while is that the program only runs when using the edition 2 ZX81 ROM. With an edition 1 ROM the program crashes with error code C/9510.

If you have real hardware with tape loading, I’ve read you can load with RAND USR 836 to stop auto-run. (This I’ve never tried myself.)
This works but must be run in FAST mode.

I have a copy of the second edition of this book, if that is of any use?
That would be great, thanks.

Rip Roaring Games for the ZX80 Book

Does anyone have a scan (or photos of each page) of the book "50 Rip-Roaring games for the ZX80 and ZX81"?

Re: SYNTAX ZX80 and other docs

Volume 1 only consists of 2 issues - November 1980 (number 1) and December 1980 (number 2). January 1981 is volume 2 number 1. So the archive isn't quite so bad as you think.

Re: Hi Res version of Berzerk

It looks great!! You've done a really nice job with the graphics, working skilfully around the limitations of pseudo hi-res. :) Horizontal movement will be challenging unless you opt for moving the sprites one character cell at a time. But I think that would work fine and would still look good. It w...

Re: New release of EightyOne available

how would it be able to be fixed? C? Python? The emulator code is written in a mix of C and C++ using the Borland Builder 5 development environment, which runs best under Windows XP (although I did get it working under Windows 7). The source is available on SourceForge alongside the executable dist...

Re: New release of EightyOne available

will there ever be support for the QL. the option is on there but the rom is nonexistent It doesn't look like the QL code was ever finished and so I suspect it has never worked. I was tempted to disable it in the Hardware options but left it visible as a prompt in case someone would like to have a ...

Re: New release of EightyOne available

EightyOne v1.14 is now available from SourceForge . This is a fairly small release that primarily resolves the defects that crept in with v1.13, but it also fixes a number of other minor bugs and includes a few enhancements, most notably to the Debugger's Profiler facility. See the Release history.t...
