Re: The Tempest Mystery

The inlay for the game says: Tempest.gif And this thread provides some details on how the Mikrogen joystick interface is read: https://www.sinclairzxworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=860#p8527 Why I try the game with and without Chroma in EightyOne, both show "PRESS ANY KEY" so Chroma is not conflicting wit...

Re: Requesting Help to Load a .WAV file.

I managed to load the file and run it, but the game screen remains static. However, pressing BREAK returns to BASIC and so it isn't crashing. Placing a breakpoint at 18823 shows that the machine code is being run at the correct entry point and it does go through the motions of regularly checking the...

Re: LODERUNNER on the ZX81

I've managed to reproduce the issue you reported using the EightyOne emulator by setting the Chr$ Generator setting in the Hardware dialog to dk'tronics instead of CHR$16 . Even with CHR$16 mode selected, the same issue is seen if the output format selected in CPEC is 8K-64 ; it needs to be 8K-128 ....

Re: LODERUNNER on the ZX81

I've tried the files again and I don't see the issue you describe. Are you testing in an emulator or real hardware? If an emulator then which one?

Re: SPeccy ON the ZeddY

I just tried the SPONZY ROM via a ZXC4 ROM cartridge plugged into a Chroma interface and it worked remarkably well. After a bit of trial and error with volume levels I managed to load the Spectrum game Flippit (Sinclair Research Ltd, G26/S) via cassette! Great stuff!!

Re: ZX81X2.ROM - and the big bang

I programmed the ZX81x2 ROM into a ZXC4 ROM cartridge plugged into a Chroma interface and ran a simple loop that filled the screen with random numbers. The difference in speed compared to the running the same loop using the standard ZX81 ROM is very noticeable and highly impressive! Congratulations ...

Re: JetPac for the ZX81

Jetpac looks great! Nice work. Have you considered including Chroma colour support in the game? ;) If you have a Window PC then you can use winTZX to create audio files from .p files as and when needed. The utility was improved last year to produce more accurate audio waveforms and also to include s...

Re: Chroma 81 - SCART and Colour interface for the ZX81

A plastic case for the Chroma interface is now available. It is 3D printed and coloured black, with a red reset button to match the red logo of the ZX81's case. All sockets of the interface are exposed, with a hinged cover over the ROM cartridge socket. ChromaInterfaceCase.png The case is composed o...

Thanks for the ts2068 keyboard. One correction, the SYMBL U key should be OR instead of ON.
Version 1.12 is now available. It corrects this and a few other minor errors in the newly added keyboard images. It now also displays the ZX80's Integral Functions list alongside its keyboard image.
