Thanks, that's a neat trick, I'll have to remember it.

ZigZags by Noice, colorized

ZigZags by Noice, nice programs originally designed for 1K ZX81. The original programs are Noice-1.p (AKA Severely Limited v1) Noice-2.p (AKA Severely Limited v2) ZigZags is my full screen version. Can anyone explain to me how these programs, Noice-1 and 2, even LOAD and RUN. There is absolutely no ...

Re: [D_File] Relocated screen page in Basic.

Wouldn't it be easier just to use your screen compress routines?

But, I guess it's not strictly speaking BASIC then.

Cellular Automata

"The Universe of Cellular Automata" by Hardin Brothers, PCResource 09/1989. This was another article I've had hidden in my archive for years, which I re- cently rediscovered. Some more interesting programs written in 8086 assembly, C and Quick Basic. I've included the scans for those interested, the...

Re: Resizing the screen (number of lines)

Maybe you're thinking of...

POKE 16418,X where X is the number of lines in the bottom part of the screen. This is normally 2, 0 gives 24 lines to the top part of the screen, 10 would devote 10 lines to the bottom and 14 to the top.

Not sure if this works on a 1K ZX81 though.

Re: OpArt for the ZX81 with Chroma

It has to do with differences in the "expression evaluator" between the two ROMs, at 0F55 in edition 2. Any app using the evaluator, such as Hot Z, will crash. Try this on both ROMs PRINT +1.

Unfortunately, there's no easy work around for this.

OpArt for the ZX81 with Chroma

Designed for Chroma but works without. Tested in emulation only.

New Year Fireworks, Colorized

I don't know who wrote this, I just colorized it for Chroma. I assume it was posted here somewhere before, but a search didn't find anything. Anyway, kudos to the original author, it's quite a nice display.
