Eprom-coding

Just wanted to give you all a small hint at what fun I am doing. Today I managed to get my Dataman S4 running again, and built its emulead. This enabled me to boot the ZX81 via an emulated eprom-image in the S4. YAY! Next step will be building an external rom-expansion card. Kind of like the interfa...

Re: Covox

Siggi: that explains a lot! Did not know that basic wrote to ROM. I tried to use those low addresses, now I know why the values kept changing. I didn't try to pull /ROMCS high. I just wanted to get things working memory-mapped in basic before changing to port-mapped. PokeMon: I really think the ULA ...

Covox

First iteration of a Covox interface for the ZX81 is working now. For those that missed it, it's a type of simple 8-bit DAC using resistors, so really cheap. Next step will be to get my EPROM-programmer up and running again. Lessons learned: - I should NEVER solder anything when having a fever. I ha...

Re: ZX-IDE tape loading

I've tried mono-mono and mono-stereo cables, with no difference. p2wav-files work perfectly fine, ZX-IDE fails.

Re: ZX81 Wiki

What I think might be good about a wiki is the fact that things disappear from the net. There is stuff that might be of interest that could survive on a wiki, but as said, only if people add to and update it. I just rummaged through my old ZX-files and found schematics for some of Wilfs bank-switche...

Re: ZX-IDE tape loading

No, normal speed does not work directly via ZX-IDE, nor does the generated wav work through other players. p2wav files does work regardless of player and soundcard.

Re: ZX-IDE and ROMs

Yes, I found CTRL+F8 in the documentation, which is why I could see how the assembler generated things. The way the assembler works is not wrong, just different from what I expected. I did search for quite a while, but I didn't find an answer to my problem. I hope someone else finds my post helpful.

Re: SAA1099

It is different! Also, 6 channels in true stereo. And the chip is small :)
