Re: EightyOne emulator may have bug with WAV generating

I can create a .wav file but it cannot be loaded into a real TS1000 or a real ZX81. All other .wav files that were created by EightyOne (about 8 of them) work with no problem. When I convert this particular one (the one for madn.bas) using an old 1999 tool, ZXC.EXE (which created a .RAW and then Au...

Do you mean you can't create create a .wav file, or you can but it won't load into a real ZX81?

PROGRAM NAME.p
It was quite badly corrupted but because it was based on the ROM's LOAD code it was relatively easy to repair the corruption.

Re: Is this a ZX81 recording or not?

On top of that earlier cassette I have come across a different one where the label suggests that it contains compiler for MC or GMSave. Link is below but there's a lot of distortion recorded into the tape - I don't know if you'd get anything useful from it. I've had a look and it is quite badly cor...

Re: Is this a ZX81 recording or not?

he has suggested he might have got it from Toni Baker's book on Machine Code but he'd not sure. I'm going to send him a link to this thread so he might have some more info. On top of that earlier cassette I have come across a different one where the label suggests that it contains compiler for MC o...

Re: Is this a ZX81 recording or not?

Thanks Fruitcake - the label on the tape says GMSave. My Dad is still around so I will ask him if he remembers about the techniques he used to save stuff. Thanks. Any info on who made GMSave would be very useful to know, e.g. was it a purchased program or typed in from a magazine. I think from what...

Re: Is this a ZX81 recording or not?

The Fast Loader is remarkably similar to the one here on my website . A comparision of the machine code shows it is identical except for the displayed date and name of the cassette routine. So it appears to be an earlier version. I don't know the history of the routine so if anyone does then I'd be ...

Re: ZX80 Character position

You can format the line exactly as shown, e.g. say you wanted to print a "A" at row 8 column 5 you would use: POKE 8*33+5+1+PEEK(16396)+PEEK(16397)*256,38 or if you could evaluate the maths yourself and use: POKE 270+PEEK(16396)+PEEK(16397)*256,38 or to make it clearer which character you are printi...
