Re: Keyboard Issue

One thing that could be happening is that if the original keyboard connection was really brittle, it might have left some pieces of itself behind in the connector. If you can, try to make sure it is as cleaned out as possible. (They do also sell replacements for those, if the connectors themselves n...

Re: New member from Oregon, USA

OK, got the parts a bit ago, and finally got the time to work on my TS1000... The first issue was the RCA jack for video... The metal tab for the center pin inside the jack had snapped off. It was pressed back in there (it was like that when I got it; I didn't notice till I did the composite mod) an...

Re: New member from Oregon, USA

Just a bit of an update of where I am with this... It's been a while since I've had a chance to play/work on my TS1000, but just ordered a few things, so hoping to do a bit more. What I have working on my TS1000 is the new keyboard, did the 16K internal mod, and the ZX8-CCB for composite. When I did...

Re: New member from Oregon, USA

OK, got my short mono audio cables so I "finished" (in quotes for a reason) my TZXDiuino. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51819348306_9eddf95a30_c.jpg TZXduino done by Desi Villaescusa , on Flickr Yeah, no case, but the screen is actually attached fairly well with two zip ties, so.... I might ke...

Re: New member from Oregon, USA

I've made some progress on my TZXDuino, getting it all wired up except for the mono cable, which I am waiting for.... I was having some issues with my Timex Sinclair 2040 (Alphacom 32) printer. I plugged it in, but nothing was happening... Checked my PSU, and it looked good... Right AC voltage... Bu...

Re: ZX81 image problems

It's the EAR port... Try that. Also, I have used the Java program tapeutils.jar to play .P files to my TS1000. Volume was I think about 79% on my PC... It's here: http://www.zx81stuff.org.uk/zx81/tapeutils/overview.html It's not the most intuitive program tho. You have to load the .P file, click OK ...

Re: ZX81 image problems

Just have to ask, are you plugging the audio cable into the EAR plug on the ZX81? And are you using a MONO or a stereo cable with your TZXDuino (did it come with a cable?)? I've been using a MONO cable with both my PC and my home-built TZXDuino (v1.18). Also, I'd try with a very short program at fir...

Re: ZX81 image problems

One thing that threw me off a bit was the double quotes over the Q. I tried those and that didn't work. ;-)

So for me, I type J (for LOAD) and then Shift-P twice for two quotes "".

Re: New member from Oregon, USA

Nice!!! I found an UNO shield that had come with a kit I got a few years ago and decided to use that. Here's my progress.. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51766004456_7eb863e999_c.jpg TZXduino WIP by Desi Villaescusa , on Flickr I haven't wired in the buttons, so they are there, but not doing an...
