Re: Lambda 8300/Power 3000 Mutlirom
Yes, having read the (thin) manual that came with it I've discovered the "shift" functions, including the editing commands. (I was wondering how to do that,...) I've put tiny stickers on in place of the missing overlay. Sorry Sascha2000; I didn't mean to interrupt and monopolize your thread. It only...

Re: Lambda 8300/Power 3000 Mutlirom
For those of you who've never seen one of these semi-mythical beasts, (which included myself until the postman made me happy yesterday), here is what they look like. The RAM pack is a Timex 1016 and works fine. So would a printer, apparently. The computer has inverse video, and is apparently very cl...

Re: Lambda 8300/Power 3000 Mutlirom
Hi Sascha2000, You read my mind--I actually did contact the seller and we agreed on an arrangement for him to mail the computer to me. So, yes,... I'm weak,.. and I bought it. Thanks for the info about the RAM pack not working. I'll try a Timex 1016 and see what results I get. It it doesn't w...

Re: Lambda 8300/Power 3000 Mutlirom
Hello Sascha, Thank-you very much for taking the time to give me the benefit of your input. The unit is apparently cosmetically quite good, with all manuals and cords included, (even a tape recorder thrown in), but without any RAM expansion. I imagine one of my Timex-Sinclair packs would work on it?...

Re: Lambda 8300/Power 3000 Mutlirom
I know very little about this computer--just what I've seen on the links in this thread. Someone in a neighboring city to me (1.5 hours away) is offering one for sale for $30 Canadian. (CAD are roughly the same as USD these days.) Is this something I should be jumping on? What are the advantages ove...

Re: ZX81CCP video output for ZX81
Thanks RetroTechie and PokeMon. Assuming this one works as expected, (I'm sure it will), I am serious about picking up 2 or 3 more whenever they're available. I have a small handful of ZX81's and Timex's,... 1K, 2K, 16K (with pack), 32K internal mod,... and a ZXpand. I've picked some up on eBay with...

Re: ZX81CCP video output for ZX81
Just discovered this thread. Wow Pokemon. I don't understand all the technical stuff, but see enough to know that I want one, or two,... no, five,... [okay calm down]. Ah but alas. I am on the wrong side of the Atlantic, where we use NTSC not PAL. Is this a show stopper, or do the different systems ...

Re: Another mystery .WAV from a tape
I took a crack at this too. No luck. Back in the 80's I made a ZX81 "Scrubber-Dubber" from plans published in a magazine article. It reads a dubious tape, and cleans up and re-digitizes the waveform so that (1) a ZX81 can read it properly, and (2) you can drive a 2nd slave recorder to make a tape co...

Re: Internal 32K RAM mod - Help
Okay, this is kind of funky. The good news is it works now. But I don't understand why,... I checked my wiring, voltage to the chip, and inspected for shorts. Nothing found. So I started with the substitution of least resistance--swapping the actual gate chip, since the actual wiring was convenientl...
