Hi Guys,
I'm still around. Just had a weeks holiday followed by a busy time at work. Hopefully get back to the ZXmore in a few days and continue checking it over.
Cheers,
Becky.

Re: ZXmore or the ZX80CORE follow-up
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm going away for a week on holiday, so won't get time to have a play until I get back. Again thank you for the suggestions.

Re: ZXmore or the ZX80CORE follow-up
Hi Karl, I have taken a few digital photos. They are high resolution, so should zoom well. Just to explain a couple of things I messed up. C4, I damaged the mounting holes and have connected it on the back of the board between r18 and D11. I also messed up the mounting for the rom switch and tried t...

Re: ZXmore or the ZX80CORE follow-up
It all looks okay, but I just realised that R11 has not been placed! Maybe once I do that it might help.
Cheers.

Re: ZXmore or the ZX80CORE follow-up
Soldering the ZXmore kit had being going well up until I tried to solder C4. A lapse in concentration somehow screwed it up big time, including destroying the metal collar in one of the mounting holes. Will connecting the capacitor directly from R18 to the output of D11 fix it?
Cheers,
Becky.

Re: ZXmore or the ZX80CORE follow-up
Has anyone given much thought to a case for their project yet? I had an idea earlier that an Acorn Electron care would be nice, I looked up how the keyboard was made- turned out it was individual key switches soldered to a pcb, so it would have been simple enough to cut the tracks on the pcb and rew...

Re: ZXmore or the ZX80CORE follow-up
Pokemon, I was never an expert. My background is not electronics, I am a nurse. I've only ever dabbled on and off over the years since I was about eight when my dad helped me build a Crystal Set radio from the Ladybird series of children's books. Your right though, by the time the ZXmore is up and r...

Re: ZXmore or the ZX80CORE follow-up
Thank you for the welcomes and for the explanations about the inductor. I'm looking forward to starting to build the kit in a week or two. I've been waiting for pay-day to buy a decent soldering iron and some Velleman type kits to practice on before tackling it. I've been able to solder for years, b...
