Re: ZX80 at last....
I had no luck trying to connect it to any TV .. neither tuning nor the mod based on 555 .. I also had no success with the blind SAVE test ... you can barely hear the classic background noise but no attempt to save. So I decided to open it and test the tensions. I found that IC16 / 13 and 11 have no ...

Re: My first ZX80.
I just got an roadstar tvm-1003 mini TV that can play both UHF & VHF. The best signal I have is in VHF channel. Hitting any key on keyboard make the screen a bit black for a second. Here is the screen: Nice ZX80.. looks like you have sync but no video. As far as I ve learned video generation is dif...

ZX80 at last....
I've received a new (to me) ZX80 after 20 days of delivery waiting... Woe.. it is smaller than I xpected, and looks more fragile.. Externally it looks very good but a minimal cracking near one corner. Keyboard andis glossy, shiny.. I didn't expect that neither so I wonder if it is an original Keyboa...

ZXpand+ joystick Questions
I have enlisted for the last ZXpand+ call.. in the meantime I just started reading several howtos about it. What I couldn't find anywhere is what kind of joystick are compatible with it? From the online manual I know joystic port has 10 pins so that rules out sinclair, kempston or atari compatible o...

Re: PSU and regulators
Looks strong enough!! I ve made this but used 4 Diodes I had at hand I series instead of a zener.. I guess this also will protect from a mistaken polarity input.. FB_IMG_1590819824842.jpg Input pin is similar to that in spectrum but 2.1center positive because that's the PSU I had to test but I will ...

Re: TS2068 video output mod?
A lot of the noise is from the power supply. If you're brave, you can replace the 5v switching circuit with a more modern device, either the Murata or RECOM devices. And the 12v. The 12v regulator provides some biasing voltages to the video signal and cleaning up that power makes a difference. As M...
